Obituary of Norma Stephens Doyle

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, Norma Doyle, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 94. Norma was born on October 21, 1927, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Homer and Letha Stephens. Norma had four brothers and two sisters. Norma completed two years of college at Harding College. On December 24, 1946, she married Charles Doyle. They had two daughters, Janet and Rebecca, and one son, Charles. In January of 1948, Norma and Charles went to Japan as missionaries. In Japan, they were part of a team that established a Christian Junior High School, High School, and College. After spending fifteen years in Japan, they returned to the U.S. and settled in Portland, Oregon. Norma worked as a secretary for several years. She loved gardening, reading, and participating in Bible studies. She loved being with her family and always had many friends. Norma was preceded in death by her father, Homer, and mother, Letha, her daughter Rebecca and husband, Charles. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Jon), son, Charles (Lisa), six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Sunnyside Funeral, Cremation and Memorial Gardens, at 2:00 p.m.
