Obituary of Janet Stiefel

Janet I Stiefel, 93, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, peaceably at home surrounded by family from heart disease. Janet was one of nine children born to Henry and Glenna Patnode in Peru, NY on December 27, 1928. Janet “Pat” Patnode married Albert D Stiefel on May 22, 1952 in Independence, Mo. Janet Stiefel was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Al and daughter, Debra Sue. Janet Stiefel is survived by her son, David, her 8 grandchildren and her 8 great grandchildren. The joy of Janet’s life was serving Jesus Christ for well over 70 years. During this time Janet served as a District Missionary President on both the New England and Oregon Pacific Districts of the Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed years working with Children’s Ministries and Child Evangelism, and as Executive Secretary to the President’s of two Nazarene Universities. Janet witnessed to tens of thousands of people around the world by giving them a Butterfly and sharing the Salvation Story with them. Daily Janet would pray for her entire family. Praying that everyone would serve Jesus Christ and they would all be together again someday. Above all, Janet was a wonderful mother and homemaker.
