Obituary of Janet Corlee Williams

Janet Williams, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from heart disease. Janet’s pride and joy was her family: Brian & Carol, Keeley & Ed, Heidi & Jan, Sally & Kit, Bonnie & Bob, Roger & Heather, her 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Jan is preceded in death by husband, Ron. Janet was born in Salem, Oregon and grew up in Portland. Janet graduated from Jefferson High School where she met Ron on a blind date. Over the years she and Ron owned several Dairy Queens as well as family restaurants in Portland and Sun River, and also had a career at Professional Liability Fund where she retired in 2003. Janet’s adventurous spirit appeared at an early age as she rode her bike all over Portland. Janet also took up golf, snow skiing, and taking classes to become a legal secretary. Janet’s life took on new meaning when she started attending Bible Study Fellowship with her neighbor friends. Along with loving her family, her passions included sewing…making ski outfits, dance outfits and many wonderful, creative quilts, as well as driving her motor home solo throughout Oregon, California and Arizona. Her legacy and independent spirit lives on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, April 15th, 5-7 pm followed by her funeral service on Saturday, April 16th at 2:00 pm. Both will be held at Sunnyside Chapel of the Chimes, 11667 SE Stevens Rd., Happy Valley, OR.
