Obituary of Scott Christopher McClintic

Scott Christopher McClintic was born on September 15th, 1967 to Bruce and Sharon (Sandal) McClintic. He was educated in the Salem public schools. His final senior semester consisted of 6 periods of art related studies and one period of calculus. Scott spent his adult work life in silicon manufacture. First with Mitsubishi Silicon American, then Siltec and lastly with his home of 24 years, Siltronic Corporation. His coworkers fondly remember his distinctive laugh, which always brought a smile. Scott and Mike enjoyed each other’s hobbies. Scott collected antique iridescent and opalescent glass. Scott sometimes chided Mike for “hijacking” his hobby. Mike grew, exhibited and hybridized dahlias. The American Dahlia Society’s 2022 Handbook and Classification of Dahlias lists eight cultivars with the “Scott’s” prefix. These varieties are grown competitively by enthusiasts throughout the country. Scott left us at 11:50 AM, Sunday morning, January 16th, 2022. He is survived by his life partner, Mike Riordan, his step-son Matthew Riordan, his step-daughter Michelle Ford and four step-grandchildren that affectionately referred to him as “Pa Pa Scott”. A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 11th at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 NW 1st Street, Gresham, OR 97030. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow immediately in the Madonna Center. Scott also leaves behind three dogs who shared his love. (Skye, Madeline and Murphy).
