Jorge Algeciras

Obituary of Jorge Esteban Algeciras

Beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away September 22nd, 2021 at 85 years old surrounded by family. He succumbed to cancer after a valiant fight. We will miss his laughter and generous spirit, but we hold his love in our hearts forever. Born in Santiago de Cuba, Jorge migrated to the US in 1966 to escape Castro's Communist Cuba and to give his young family the opportunity to live free. Jorge was an electrician by trade whose work ethic and service to his community was well known. He worked hard to advance his career and acquire more knowledge to provide for his family. Jorge loved his family and loved to host pig roasts or barbeques to celebrate any event. He was also very proud to have been a volunteer at Trost Elementary School and other elementary schools because education was very important to him. Jorge is survived by his wife, Mimi, of 63 years, his children, their spouses, 5 grandchildren (their spouses and partners), three great grandchildren, an extensive extended family, and many dear family friends. At the request of Jorge, there will be no funeral service. Please consider donating to your favorite charity in Jorge's memory or to the American Cancer Society.
