Jessie JoAnn Cossu was born in Baker, Oregon on July 28th, 1939 to Edna and Jess Jones. She left us at age 81 on February 24th, 2021 in Portland, Oregon. JoAnn was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel. She was known for her generosity, helpfulness, and kindness. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her sons strong values that have served them well. Her dream was to get married and have children. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone who knows them knows that she was a star in their eyes, and that’s all that ever mattered to her. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, John. She is survived by, son John W. Cossu, his wife Cindy and daughter Olivia, son Anthony S. Cossu, his wife Lilia, and daughter Lillian, stepson Claude G. Cossu, her brother and sister, nieces and nephews, along with out of state grandchildren and great grandchildren. JoAnn also known as "Stretch" was described as “genuine to a fault, living with a loving heart, and a friend you could always depend on. She was always there to help emotionally, be a shoulder to cry on or giving a hug. She will be missed by family and friends that loved her dearly.
