Ms. Nora was a beautiful, kind, and gentle angel on earth. Her soft spirit and sense of humor is what I’ll remember the most - and how she laughed at my jokes. She truly was a living blessing, and her impact will be felt for generations. Rarely are we blessed with encountering someone who embodies the sheer essence of selflessness, but Ms. Nora was that person. I pray that God camps his angels around the family and supports them during this tough time - and my ultimate prayer is that Ms. Nora is resting in heavenly peace with all of God’s angels.

Ms. Nora was such a sweet and wonderful person. I always enjoyed seeing her whenever she would come into town to visit. So friendly, warm, polite... just like her three girls. I know you all are going to miss her but know she left her mark when she had you all. You three are the spitting image of her and I know that she will continue to live on through you. I will continue to pray for you that God will give you all the strength to get through this difficult and trying time and help you to remember all the great times that you had with your mom rather than this sad one. I love you all very much and I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am so grateful to have met Ms. Nora Sue Blume. It's been 3years since I started working with the family as Eula's personal care assistant. Nora was so sweet and down to earth. She accepted me as part of her family, and made my work very smooth as she always offered a helping hand. She inspired me and I learnt a great deal from her. She was also very kind, and warm towards me. I miss you very much Ms. Nora. The Friday before her demise on Monday, you said, "Wendy rest well and see you on Monday." Not knowing those were your last words to me. Till we meet again. Rest well my dear friend in your Creator's bossom.+

Steph, Londa, and Terri...Your mom took me under her wing when I was most vulnerable. You all shared your life with me and Mrs. Nora was always willing, always so kind. You all will always be my cousins, but you know we started out more like sisters. I'm so grateful for the example your family set for me. I don't know where I would be today without those years I spent around you. Nora Blume was truly a beautiful guardian angel. Her kindness will never be forgotten. Her handsome prince has been waiting a long time for her... Many condolences to your family.
Peace and Blessings, Alena Vance

I am grateful that the first time I met Ms. Nora I realized it was an honor to be in her presence. I can only imagine the honor of being one of her phenomenal daughters, because of the way she treated me.
When I heard the sweet Southern sway in her words that immediately reminded me of my beloved father, and of unconditional love.
While I knew Ms. Nora accepted me the way I came, she also inspired me and motivated me to be better and do better. She made me believe I was a good person.
Maybe even better than I was. Sometimes I would tell Steph I worry about what Ms. Nora might think, and she would say, "It's okay. Nora would never believe that about you."
That belief in me inspired me daily to strive. While I knew I couldn't be her I could be the woman she saw me to be.
That kind of vision is what made the three exceptional daughters she raised. She could not have envisioned more, or better for them. I have three kids of my own and have wondered what the formula is to raising happy, healthy and successful kids in the way she did.
At some point I came to the realization that I am just not Ms. Nora and all I can do is continue to use her as my inspiration every day.
I will.
Ms. Nora. You inspire me to be better in every single thing that I do.
I thank you for that.
And for bringing me the very best and closest sister I never had in Stephanie, and the sisters I could have never dreamed of in Terri and Yolanda.
My life has not only been changed but has been guided by you.
There are not enough thanks in this world.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Nora Blume. However I feel I know her through the stories and kind words her daughter Terri shared with us about her mother at our book club meetings. May the fond memories of the times you all shared serve as a comfort to you at this time.

Dear Terri, Steph and Londa,
I know words cannot explain how much you will miss your mom. Her untimely passing is devastating. But comfort yourself with your mom’s love because that love is still here. Comfort yourself in all the real memories and times shared because those memories still exists. Your mom poured the best parts of herself into you all. You all are regal, sophisticated, decent and honorable women—Nora did this!! This transition is going to be hard because you will miss your mom so much. Whenever you’re feeling sad, think of the most comforting memory of you and your mom when you were a child. Think of when you were younger and your mom taking care of you —imagine your mom holding you the way she held you as a child. A piece of your mom’s spirit will always comfort you all. While she may not be here physically—she will be in your mannerisms; she’ll show up in your daily interactions in the way that you treat people with respect and decency; she’ll show up in the way you love and care for each other; she’ll show up when your adding ingredients to cook your dinners; she’ll show up in New Seasons and Whole Foods while shopping; she’ll show up in Aunt Clydine, Katherine and Eula; she’ll show up when when helping people. Nora’s spirit is all around—when you see it smile and recognize it and remember your mom. I love you all. May God bless Nora’s beautiful daughters the way he blessed her.
Love Brother Dontae

It is with deepest sympathy that I’m writing this. To my dearest friend Steph. The bond and love you had with your mom is indescribable! The moment I met Mrs. Nora I too fell in love with her. The kindness she showed me will always be etched in my heart! I will never forget playing bingo with her when I visited you all! Times like these aren’t easy. With time they will definitely get easier, but never forgotten. May you, Terri, and Londa be comforted by the HOLY SPIRIT!
Love,
Aretha Heath

My condolences to the Blume family on the passing of Mrs. Blume. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. I had the pleasure of not only hearing many great stories about Mrs. Blume but I was fortunate to meet her in person for Yolanda's 50th birthday celebration. I'm glad she enjoyed hearing about my excitement of my first hiring of a cleaning crew to clean my home and probably flew back to Portland wondering why a woman would need to show off a picture of a clean oven. :-)
Keep the memory of Mrs. Blume alive and may you find the comfort that you need.
