Obituary of Leah Evans

Leah Capell was born on July 25, 1929 to James Bailey and Flora E Marley Capell in Robin, Idaho. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho where she met and married her husband, Dean Evans. They moved to Oregon in 1968. Leah retired from Holladay Park Hospital in 1991 where she worked as a psychiatric nursing assistant. She enjoyed drawing, painting, and quilting. Leah loved playing games with family, gardening, dancing and spending time with her kids and all their friends. She was the neighborhood mom! She was known for her love, compassion and integrity, always setting a good example for all. Leah was very dedicated to her children and husband. She never remarried after his death in 1984. Leah is survived by daughters Donnetta Roberts 73, Deanna Gibler 71, Sherrie Conover 70, Vickie Blacksmith 69, Lanette Prazeau 67, Melody Kirkendall 66; son Byron Evans 64; daughter Mary Ann Evans 62; son-in-laws Larry Conover, Michael Roberts, and Galen Ngirakesau, 30 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 29 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson, Allen Conover. A livestream of Leah's service will take place on October 15th at 1:00 pm.
