Obituary of Joan Marie Kline

Joan Marie Kline passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon on May 2, 2020. Joan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She moved around a lot but remained in the Portland Metro area. She graduated from Washington High School, which is now closed. Worked at Pumptech Inc. as a receptionist from 1995 through 1998 when she was forced into retirement due to her health. She met the love of her life, “Butch” in 1970 on a blind date, the two were absolutely smitten about each other. They were married 6 months later and were happily married for 41 years. Joan and Butch used to always say they were soul mates and you could tell with how much they loved each other. Joan’s hobbies would often adapt to what Butch was into at the time. She rode and owned 6 horses. Her favorite and most prized one was named Ringo. She loved watching soap operas, going garage sale hunting all around town with her sisters. You could often find her looking for ceramic figurines that you would see all around her home. Most of all she loved going on adventures with her family. She always went with the flow and was up for anything. Joan will be dearly missed, she was truly a special lady, and she was always so loving and patient. It was common that Joan and Butch would open up their hearts and their homes to anyone who may need a safe place to stay. She was survived by her daughter: Lisa Kline (The Bronx, NY), Sister's Judy Bergeson and brother in law, Jerry (Long Beach, WA), Sandra Rush (Gresham OR), Brother: Michael Shepard and sister in law, Dion. (Astoria, OR) Several Nieces and Nephews: Michael Bergeson: Debra, John and Angelica Rohrer: James, Shawna and Christopher All: Matthew, Jennifer & (Kids) Shepard: Daniel Shepard: James Jackson: Tori & Avery Jackson. And many cousins. She joins her husband Houston (Butch) Ray Kline in death.
