Obituary of Bobby Jean Waters

Bobby Jean Waters passed away peacefully alongside of her family at Ada’s Nursing Home on February 24, 2020. Bobby was born on May 23, 1929 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Herbert and Jonsie Taylor. Bobby grew up in Oklahoma, her father’s work in oil had brought them there. While living in Wetumka, she met the love of her life, Millard Waters. They married in 1947 in Oklahoma. After a while her family returned to Dallas, Texas, while Millard and Bobby decided to head out West. They came to Oregon to raise their family together in 1952. Millard loved the Pacific Northwest weather, and fish and game that Oregon had to offer. Bobby was an innovator, one of her big accomplishments was designing, building and testing out the oscilloscope that aided the Apollo mission. She was the kind of person who worked smarter, not harder. While Bobby was having some landscaping done, a couple people were trying to move these 300 pound pyramids, and did not have any luck. By the time they came back the next day, Bobby had moved them herself with the help of a leaver. They were shocked! Bobby will be laid to rest with her husband Millard Turner Waters, and son, Millard Ray Waters, at Willamette National Cemetery. She leaves behind her son Gary Waters, her grandchildren and numerous friends.
