Obituary of Louette Janice Maynard

Louette W. Maynard passed away peacefully in her home on July 26, 2019.

Louette was born on January 13, 1933 to Phoebe and Allan Wangerin in Racine, Wisconsin. Originally they were expecting a boy, but when Louette was born to their surprise they had a girl! This was her response to a frequently asked question.

After the passing of her first husband, David Summers, Louette returned to school in Florida. She worked on receiving her bachelor’s degree in her 40s and became an elementary school teacher. Louette taught first and second grade for a number of years at Hayhurst Elementary in SW Portland. She will always be remembered for being loving and generous to all those around her. She enjoyed playing a variety of card games like, progressive rummy.

Louette was predeceased by her first husband, David Summers, second husband Philip Maynard, third husband Henry Klinger, son Mark Summers, son John Summers and grandson Joseph Summers.  Louette leaves behind her beloved cat, Duncan, her step-son Clyde Klinger, step-daughter Theresa Grigory, son in law Michael Riordan and numerous friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held for Louette on Saturday August 10, 2019 at Wood Village Baptist Church located at 23601 NE Arata Road, Wood Village, Oregon 97060. The service will begin at 1:00 PM with hospitality following.

Services are in care of Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes.
