Obituary of Kenneth Walter Parker

Kenneth Walter Parker passed away July 6th, 2019 at the age of 96. Kenneth was born on September 4th, 1922 in Henderson, Iowa where he graduated from Henderson School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII on the U.S.S Chester. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946, he moved to San Francisco for a while before settling in Portland, OR where he met the love of his life Clara on a blind date. Clara and Kenneth were married in 1950 and soon followed two children Gary and Leslie. Together they ran a successful family ran operation called Ken Parker Mason Contractor.

Over the years the family enjoyed many miles spent traveling and camping together. Kenneth loved to fish and spent a great amount of time at the family cabin up on the White Salmon River.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Clara Parker, his two children Gary Parker and Leslie (Dan) Marti, two grandsons Clinton and Jake and 2 great-grandchildren Hudson and Lola.

A memorial service will be held at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes on Friday July 19th, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow immediately after service. All are welcome to attend.
