Obituary of Donald Willard Johnson

Donald Willard Johnson, age 83, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away on June 29th, 2019 of natural causes.

Donald was born on March 30, 1936 in Monte Vista, Colorado to parents Willard and Freda Johnson. He attended Oregon State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He met the love of his life, Mary Douglas, in 1956 while attending OSU. They married in August of 1959 and shared 46 years together. They were blessed with two sons, Douglas and Daniel.

Donald enjoyed a career in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and later became a successful administrive manager in the electric power industry. He was very proud of his work and the family that he and Mary created together. He enjoyed golfing, travelling and coaching baseball for his children. He and Mary would bicycle through Europe on several occasions. In his later years, Donald would travel to South America.

Donald will be remembered as a loving, caring man who would give and do anything for his friends, family and the people he cared for. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents Willard and Freda, and his sister Virginia Hosford. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Douglas and Daniel and several nieces and nephews.
